It has been a very long time since CCV has blogged, but I am finally back. For quite some time I have been in a serious quandary – almost at a loss for what to blog about. Why? Because the issues at hand today are truly, truly no longer democrat versus republican or liberal versus conservative, they are – very simply stated – up or down as a nation. I believe our survival as a free people depends on choosing rightly, this day, whom we will ultimately serve, man or God, creature or Creator. We seem to be in the throes of what French Philosopher Jacques Ellulcalled “the political illusion” – namely, that there is a political solution to every problem. That illusion is basic Marxist philosophy – it is essentially Marxism101 and it is a flat lie. There is not now, never has been, nor will there ever be a man made political solution to every problem. I believe we face a societal loss of nerve so monumental that we’ve lost the capacity to name it, and we live in a confused and weary world. We have, almost overnight and imperceptibly, become a nation of lost sheep – a nation adrift.
So what to blog on and where to begin? The enemy’s attack (“enemy’s” in this context is a reference to Satan – FYI for all you secular humanists) is multi directional and there are so many worthwhile battles to fight that the national spiritual and political landscape sometime seems overwhelming and maybe even unwinnable. Additionally, the lack of moral courage and intestinal fortitude being displayed by the so called “good guys” in Washington DC is absolutely breathtaking. So the natural question that arises is this, if one risks all to fight for righteousness will he or she be fighting alone, sort of like Uriah the Hittite? If one commits to God wholeheartedly will he be like Daniel in Babylon? Alone in the Lion's den?
Recently a friend of mine named David wrote me about an eye opening/ “educational” experience he had. It involved me, my previous insights and several of our prior philosophical discussions. He and I spoke back and forth on a chat room. My sincere hope is that, by sharing this blog and this particular discussion, many more eyes, like David’s, will be opened and light will be shed upon some darkness. Our conversation follows immediately below:
David writes: I'm finishing up a degree online in the next two months and my latest class is about moral relativity vs. moral absolutism. I always thought that western thought on some fundamental level believed in a basic absolutism. Surely after the fall of Nazi Germany there are some things we can all agree are absolutely right and wrong that have no ambiguity. I am mortified to say this is not the case.
Reading the conclusions of my fellow undergraduate students subscribing to moral relativity is one of the most disturbing things I have ever witnessed. It is really bothering me that people can be so incredibly blind. Suddenly I see the spirit of antichrist clearer than I ever have before and the worst part is people are blindly embracing this in the US. I am beginning to wish I had never gone back to school.
Ted Baccich reply: Not sure what to say to this David, and please, please do not take this as prideful but, I have seen this for years and years. Maybe it is why I "scream" so loudly and it would seem that so very few actually listen. They are truly, truly blind and yes, it is ghastly and horrifying to observe. The god of this world has truly "blinded the minds of men."
David: I'll be honest, I have thought that you were a bit eccentric and that it wasn't as bad as you have always made it out to be since I've known you. I guess I just kept believing, hoping that people were not this lost. I don't understand it. I literally nearly threw up in my mouth reading comments from students. It seriously makes me want to run away into the wilderness like one of those doomsday prep people.
Ted: Still think I'm crazy?
David: Sadly no. Not anymore. I would laugh but I can't muster up a chuckle. It literally sickens me. We are one generation away from another Nazi party. It’s literally a roll of the dice at this point. Ugh.
Ted: I see it very clearly and I have seen it for years. People are literally hypnotized. Their minds are held captive by the prince of this world and all his masterful deceptions. How else do you explain God blessed America electing neo-Marxist leaders to high office? It is a grand illusion. It is perhaps the single greatest deception in American history. BTW, we are not one generation away from the Nazi party. In several ways it is already here. They just call themselves liberal progressives. Their ideology is – in many historically demonstrable ways – the same.
David: I posted the other day about what the president believes according to his own admission. He is a relativist of the highest order. Right is whatever seems right to him. I honestly didn't believe he was evil, but he very well could become a dictator if they merely removed the checks and balances. In several key issues, he is in the same category as the spirit of the Antichrist and what is amazing is he doesn't even realize it. And neither do most Americans.
Ted: I believe there is a spirit of Antichrist in America today. I believe it is poured out strong and boldly like at no other time in US History. Yes, the vast majority are blinded to it. Yes even our senior leaders seem to have a spiritual blindness today. The far left owns the "mainstream" media. And the grand illusion – the political illusion – is not propagated from only one source. There are several forces working together; it is a similar scenario to the horrors that played out in Nazi Germany. The great Alexander Solzhenitsyn put it this way (in his amazing Harvard Commencement Address in 1978), “But the fight for our planet, physical and spiritual, a fight of cosmic proportions, is not a vague matter of the future; it has already started. The forces of Evil have begun their decisive offensive. You can feel their pressure, yet your screens and publications are full of prescribed smiles and raised glasses. What is the joy about?”
Ted: I rejoice that your eyes are opened. It's sort of like being in the movie: "The Matrix" isn't it? You wish you could take "the blue pill" and live in a fool's paradise ... kind of, sort of. Now that you see with eyes that see – you cannot "un-see" without serious efforts to willfully self delude. Hard to truly “see” this ain't it? I'd kind of like to "un-see" it myself.
David: I don't want to unsee it because God showed me this when I was about 10 and I didn't understand it. Now I do. It makes things much more clear. I didn't realize good and evil was so defined in society. So many things make more sense now. The apocalyptic portions of Scripture make much more sense now that I can see the extent of the darkness present in society. I always thought all but a small handful of people deep down loved God and what is right. Wow! How wrong I have been!
Ted: It is no small handful. Jesus said in John 3: 19, "This is the verdict, that light came into the world and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil." Dave, with your blessing, I would like to reprint our conversation of today, in part, and post it on my blog; I have not posted in many months and was thinking about/ praying about a good posting. I would really like to post this. It is an excellent conversation and I know there are many people like you ... who really need to seriously ponder the national phenomenon of blindness – which in several cases is (I believe) a willful blindness.
David: Sure. I'd be honored. Frankly I am still in shock. I will have to think about the ramifications of this for awhile.
Ted: Thanks Dave, I will post ... I understand the shock. I have been through it directly.... and it IS shocking. It is just that I have lived through the direct impact of this sometimes willful blindness in the ministry. My family and I have suffered.
David: I guess for a long time I haven't wanted to see the sweeping negative sentiment toward evangelical Christianity in the country. I always held out hope that there was some way both sides could come to reconciliation, but it appears now that all liberal media really wants is for evangelical Christianity to fade into the night of history. 1 Peter 2 calls Christians strangers and pilgrims. I guess I have a tough time coming to that reality, that this world is not home.

THE WAR VIII
GOD BLESS AMERICA, LONG MAY SHE LIVE. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! Let us never forget our true and godly heritage -- unique gifts from God Himself and our brave forebears -- the men and women whose blood flowed the streets of New England to give us the freedoms that we still enjoy -- at least to a degree -- to this very day. <<READ MORE>>

Enlightenment philosopher Voltaire once said, “If you want to know who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.” Feminism. The mere mention of the word makes me queasy and apprehensive, and I have been in 3 wars. Why am I afraid? Does a philosophy called feminism, an ethereal substance, want to harm me? Elaine Donnelly, Founder and President of the Center for Military Readiness, labels this phenomenon, “Fem Fear.” <<READ MORE>> THE WAR VI
Today marks 40th Anniversary of the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton Supreme Court decisions that have effectively legalized the quiet holocaust – the abortion holocaust in America. That marks 40 years, or one generation – of it being legal to kill unborn children. Over the last 40 years, roughly 57 Million babies have been aborted for any reason or for no reason at all using any procedure deemed desirable for all 9 months of pregnancy. Abortion is not a social or a political issue. This is a profoundly ethical, <<READ MORE>>
THE WAR V What will America look like, feel like, smell like, and sound like on the day after the election, Wednesday, November 7th? Will there be significant civil unrest regardless of which candidate prevails? Looking at the state of the nation, the thinking person has to honestly wonder. No matter who wins the coming election, we will still have a 16 Trillion dollar debt hanging over our heads, and our children’s heads. <<READ MORE>>

As I was out and about one day visiting various troops and personnel in Afghanistan, I found myself looking through an amazing piece of technology known as the “Eye in the Sky.”The Eye in the Sky is a simple balloon with a very high powered camera which is utilized for surveillance. Now the Eye in the Sky can see from great distances, and it can observe all kinds of things. It is Orwellian in a manner of speaking; big brother is indeed watching you.<<READ MORE>>

In 1982, Ronald Reagansaid, "Our military strength is a prerequisite to peace, but let it be clear we maintain this strength in the hope it will never be used, for the ultimate determinant in the struggle that's now going on in the world will not be bombs and rockets but a test of wills and ideas, a trial of spiritual resolve, the values we hold, the beliefs we cherish, the ideals to which we are dedicated."CCA asks the question: Are we losing the test of wills, the battleground for character?<<READ MORE>>

In 1996, I was invited to a luncheon that made a long lasting impression. It was a local civic luncheon in Bonham, Texas, where I was living and working. They were honoring the DFYT (Drug Free Youth in Texas) at this particular luncheon. And as I sat and listened to the young man who represented the DFYT, with all due respect to the DFYT and to the many good things it stands for, I couldn't help thinking ... what's so great about not being on drugs? <<READ MORE>>

Why do the far left hate and what exactly do they hate? Why do outspoken liberals and critics such as: Bill Mahr(Religulous), Alec Baldwin, Chris Matthews, Katie Couric, Barbara Streisand, Joy Behar, Richard Dawkins (The God Delusion) and the list goes on, (from all outward appearances), hate conservatives and Christians? Why do they promise to “leave the country,” as several did before George W. Recently CCA had an unusual conversation with a Christian Brother; the conversation was related to the political homosexual movement. I advocated limiting the proliferation of this movement via common sense laws and policies. My brother’s position was unclear. I gathered from his tone that he was not on the side of legally limiting said behavior. We debated via email and I made the following assertions: Homosexuality is not a race or a sex; it never has been. It is a behavior. <<READ MORE>>

Recently, over the Christmas holidays, I was driving home happily and listening to the Sean Hannity radio show.Because we were in the heart of the Christmas season and I was listening to an iconic conservative talk show, I expected to hear cogent, logical, and perhaps even inspirational conservative thought. This particular show was being led by a guest host (not Sean Hannity, but presumably a colleague).A caller was speaking to this host about the recent repeal of the Military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” Policy (DADT), and the show’s host mocked him by saying, “What’s wrong with Sodomy?”The host went on to dismiss the caller’s concerns as “silly.” <<READ MORE>>

Where were you when the world stopped turning? That is the question of the day.It is also the name of an Alan Jackson song about that terrible day, nine years ago. There are a few events that are so significant and impactful in world history, whereas, when they happen, almost any given person can tell where they were and what they were doing when it happened. The assassination of JFK (if you are old enough to remember), the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan, and the Terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 are among those days.We are now nearly a decade removed from that terrible day and it seems that many may have missed the message and meaning of the day. <<READ MORE>>

Abortion. The mere mention of the word causes almost instant polarization. It is the quiet holocaust of our time. On January 22, 1973, The US Supreme Court legalized, and in many ways societally legitimized abortion.Stating that a woman may abort her pregnancy for any reason, up until the "point at which the fetus becomes 'viable,'" the “Justices” ignored and usurped the foundations of our Constitution.Volumes could be – and have been – written about the atrocious Roe v. Wade decision. This post asks a simple question: Where is the voice of the American church in legalized abortion?<<READ MORE>>

Ronald Reagan, in perhaps his best and most memorable speech (now known as “The Speech” or “A Time for Choosing” click to watch), started by stating, “I have spent most of my life as a Democrat. I recently have seen fit to follow another course.I believe that the issues confronting us cross party lines.”As Reagan so rightly observed a generation ago, the issues that confront America today cross party lines; they affect each and every one of us – all the way down to our children and our children’s children. The seriousness of our issues goes beyond the traditional left versus right politically; our issues are up versus down, and life versus death in regards to our very survival as a people.<<READ MORE>>
Please Join Us As We Fight.Take a Stand Today:
1.Call your elected representative and get involved now.Take a few minutes and let them know what you think about the issues you care about today.Let them hear your voice about illegal immigration, government run healthcare and the many other issues that we all currently face. The Capitol Hill switchboard number is: (202) 224-3121, or toll free at 1-877-851-6437.It only takes a few minutes to make a call, and your vote does matter.Remember in the year 2000, that the President of the United States was elected by 537 votes in Florida. The margin of victory was 0.0092%.For
every one person who actually calls or writes their elected leaders,
there are generally hundreds, if not thousands that he or she is
speaking for.Remember to always be polite, respectful and to the point when calling.
of your precious right toVOTE.Voting is more than a right, it is a duty and a
privilege.Stay informed of the issues and carefully consider who and what you are voting for.
3.Get yourself and your family involved in a decent church. There are no perfect churches, but there are decent ones out there.Find one and remember that God requires us to keep holy the Sabbath Day.Church attendance is a benefit and blessing of a free society, and it is a basic human need.Do not take this freedom lightly or one day it may be gone.
4. Support your local candidate or run for office yourself.Want change for the better?Make it happen.Take time to visit your local party headquarters when it matters most – immediately prior to an important election.
5.Watch out for your neighbors, and help them when there in genuine need.Like it or not, we are our brother’s keeper, and that implies moral obligation to those in need.
6.Get involved in worthwhile causes and para-church organizations such as the
Manhattan Declaration and so many others that are fighting for liberty
and the common good of humanity. Getting involved can be a lot easier that it seems and with the internet at your fingertips, one can "get involved" in about 5 minutes. Your voice counts!
7.Speak out whenever an opportunity presents itself.Let your voice be heard; be salt and light.Comment on news stories; write letters to the editor. We are convinced there is a quiet multitude in this country who will not speak because of the fear of ridicule.Speak
out boldly anyway; and especially if you know in your heart that you
are right, and you might just wind up turning a few heads in the right
8.Live your life like your influence matters. It does. You cannot change the entire world, but you definitely can change your little corner of it.
9.Pray and believe in God.Make a conscious decision to have faith in His eventual triumph over all powers of darkness (both personally and corporately).
10.If you are married, love your mate; stay faithful in word and deed.If single, love your Creator, and seek a mate if you wish.Live a life of integrity.
11.Love your children.Raise them up with godly wisdom and discipline.Keep them from the horrible influences that are now so pervasive in the culture. They truly are the future.
12.Live for God first and foremost.Live for a purpose that is greater than yourself. As Saint Francis of Assisi once said, “Preach the Gospel always – if necessary use words.”Remember that there are no small rolls in God’s Kingdom. As
Martin Luther so rightly observed: “A woman spinning at the wheel or a
man plowing in the field are no less spiritual than a monk praying.”
